A few hours in Como
For a first walk, we suggest the cathedral and Broletto, Piazza San Fedele and the streets of the walled town. Add the exterior of the Casa del Fascio on Piazza del Popolo if modern architecture interests you, then reach Piazza Cavour for the lake. This is a suggested itinerary, not a fixed-duration tour: visits, stops and your pace determine the time.
One day between town and lake
Spend the morning in the old town, then choose one main afternoon experience: museums, the walk towards Villa Olmo or Brunate. Adding a long boat trip as well may leave little time for sightseeing. Check the last useful return service before setting off.
Rainy days, children and accessibility
In wet weather, consider the art gallery, Silk Museum or Tempio Voltiano after checking opening. With children, alternate a short visit with an outdoor break. Ask operators about access for wheelchairs or pushchairs: historic churches, boats, gardens and trails have different conditions. A walking route does not guarantee step-free access.
A day on Lake Como
Bellagio, Varenna, Menaggio and the villas of Tremezzina deserve a dedicated plan. Our lake guide also includes Cernobbio, Torno, Villa Melzi Gardens, Villa Carlotta, Villa Monastero and Villa del Balbianello. Choose a few stops and organise transport: distance across water is not the same as road journey time.
Directions from the attraction to our restaurant
Buttons labelled “to La Griglia from…” open Google Maps with the attraction as the starting point and our restaurant as the destination. They do not navigate to the attraction.
